Alireza Ghasempour Alireza Ghasempour has been a faculty member in the Information and Communications Technology department at the University of Applied Science and Technology. His areas of interest include smart grids, the Internet of Things, machine learning and deep learning techniques, optimization methods, smart cities, and wireless communications and networks. He has published several papers in these areas in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

He is a professor at INTI International University in Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry at the University of Putra Malaysia in 2010. He had worked for more than 12 years as a lecturer, researcher, examination panel member, examination moderator, and the conference committee for the university. At INTI International University, he has taught a variety of chemistry courses such as physical chemistry, organic chemistry, general chemistry, chemistry & society, and methods & skills in research for undergraduate courses. Currently, he is a member of the Institute of Materials Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, Malaysian Analytical Sciences Society, Malaysian Solid-State Science & Technology Society, Researchers Society of Chemical Sciences, Scientific and Technical Research Association, Asian Chemical Society, Asian Council of Science Editors and World Researchers Associations. As an active researcher in the university, his research areas include renewable energy, solar energy, chalcogenide metals, activated carbon, wastewater treatment, biomaterials, green chemistry, semiconductors, nanomaterials, and thin film materials. He has published more than 180 papers in Scopus/WoS/internationally referred journals, 48 book chapters, and 5 books. His research has been widely recognized and successfully received several local and international awards. He has been appointed as a journal reviewer (reviewed more than 850 papers), journal editor (40 journals), editorial board member (85 journals), chief guest editor, and thesis external examiner (25 universities).

Dr. Chaoqun Liu received both a BS (1968) and MS (1981) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and a PhD (1989) fromthe University of Colorado at Denver, USA. He is currently the Tenured and Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Center for Numerical Simulation and Modeling at the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas, USA. He has worked on high-order direct numerical simulation(DNS) and large eddy simulation(LES)for flow transition and turbulence for 33 years since 1990. As PI, he has been awarded by NSF, NASA, US Air Force, and US Navy with 51 federal research grants of over5.95×106USdollarsin theUnitedStates.He has published 16 professional books, 144 journal papers, and 170 conference papers and book chapters. Prof. Tamotsu Takahashi obtained Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo graduate school in 1983. And then he became Assistant Professor at engineering department of the University of Tokyo. He was promoted to Associate Professor at Institute for Molecular Science in Okazaki in 1991. He moved to Hokkaido University in 1995 as a full professor. He retired in 2020 and now emeritus Professor of Hokkaido University. In 2024, he became President of Foundation for Interaction in Science & Technology, Japan.

Graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in October 2010 with a Ph.D. in Power Systems and Automation, with Professor Chen Chen (winner of the "Gu Yuxiu Electrical Engineering Award"); worked at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China since October 2010. From March 2014 to March 2015, he was a visiting scholar/postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Energy Technology of Aalborg University in Denmark, engaged in the hierarchical coordinated control of smart microgrids, including flexible grid-connected technology and power quality control of new energy systems such as photovoltaic and wind power generation, and control strategy of power electronic devices based on DSPACE and RTDS real-time simulation system. He has undertaken more than 30 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund, the Sichuan Provincial Key R&D Plan Project, the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and the State Grid Corporation of China Science and Technology Project, and has been authorized with more than 40 invention patents. He has published one English academic monograph with Springer Publishing House, and more than 20 SCI papers in top journals in the field of electrical engineering, such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, and Renewable Energy. Among them, there are 5 ESI highly cited papers and 1 ESI hot paper, with the highest single paper citation exceeding 800 times. Weijie, LI, Central South University WeijieLi obtained her Ph.D. degree (2016) from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Then, she worked in University of Wollongong as associate research fellow and DECRA research fellow for 6 years. She is currently as a research fellow at State Key Laboratory for Powder Metallurgy, Central South University in China. Her current research interest is focused on developing the energy storage system with the high energy density (including sodium ion batteries and aqueous batteries).

Dr. Mostafa EsmaeiliShayan received the Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees (with honors) in renewable energy engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, Iran, in 2022 and 2017, respectively. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Director of the Engineering Division, Saba Power and Energy Group, the largest private electric power company in Iran, where he served for two years. In 2023, he was granted a full postdoctoral scholarship in power electronics and renewable energy research with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Malaya (UM). Since early 2024, he has been engaged as a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Mechanical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering, Università degli Studi di Cagliari (UniCa), Italy, where he focuses on optimizing energy systems for the provision of electricity, heating, and cooling in European and African nations. He contributes as an editor to several specialized scientific journals and has authored numerous publications that contribute significantly to both national and international discourse. His research interests include renewable energy, energy systems, thermal energy, power systems, energy storage, microgrids, and optimization.
